this is what first made my heart break a little in the finale. because for so long cas hasn’t been himself. he’s been manipulated and controlled and leviathan possessed and lying. there was only a small time when he was himself, only a few episodes where he was awkward angel original flavor sassy cassie, before everything changed. and here he’s all grown up but there’s that small part of him that says lines like that and it hurts so much because that part of him is mostly gone.

Naomi said that Castiel’s problem was that he had too much heart, but I think that was a reflection of herself. She just wanted heaven to be right again, after the whole apocalypse thing, and she just wanted the angels to get along. But the fact that she realized that they had been going about it the wrong way, that shows she had heart too. And just like Castiel, she did the wrong thing when trying to do the right thing. Kudos to Amanda Tapping for portraying that so well, and RIP Naomi.
